Research last year by legallybetter.com showed that 70% of feedback about lawyers is positive and that, after word of mouth, the internet is now the most important source for those looking for legal advice.
The 70% figure may surprise people, along with their position as 'most trusted adviser' but shows it's not all bad news for law firms. The key issue for them is leveraging the role of trusted advisor for commercial advantage away from the traditional (commoditisable) areas of law that will be dominated by the new competitors. The internet has the reach and influence to help develop their reputation. What do the solicitors themselves think?
